On Sat took the 1400 climb over 1.6 mile to Comet Falls at Mt Rainier-
glorius day and the falls were spectacular, well worth the hike.
The Comet Falls LB was not to be found, however. I was wondering if
anyone has come across it lately or if it has fallen prey to the
NPS? I notice on the NLBA site it is listed as an abandoned box.
Thanks
Patricus

I've put in to maintain that and a few other boxes in this area. I've not yet been there to locate it yet though... Were you unable to find the location at all, or just couldn't find the box?

It might have fallen prey to the 15 feet of snow it was under a few
months back! We attempted the box in April and had no luck even
reaching the trailhead since the snow was so deep at the time. I
wonder how drastically the landscape changes after the snow melts--I
can only imagine that it is quite different from season to season.
Maybe we should look for the letterbox in the Nisqually River or
Puget Sound somewhere? ;)
